Configuration of Roles & Permissions

What are roles?

A role is a set of permissions granted to Switch users or groups to interact with some of the Switch Platform Features.

Navigation

To access roles & permissions from the users view, navigate via the left-hand site menu or the view dropdown on the top right corner of your screen


Types of roles

Each portfolio has 4default roles:

 

-   Integrator

-   Contractor

-   Analyst

-   Super User

 

 

Super Users can create new roles, based on the default roles.

The default roles are shown in grey: they’re shared across the Platform and non-editable The new roles have some editable options in blue: they become editable based on the default roles.

You can create new roles by hitting the + in the bottom right of your screen and selecting ‘roles’. If you don’t see this option talk to your ‘superuser’ to change


How do roles get assigned?

Roles get assigned while creating a user and can be changed while editing a user.

When creating a single user, choose the appropriate role from the dropdown.


Create User

If you are adding multiple users at once, add the user role, from the 4default roles, in the role column.
