Switch Events is a simple work order tool that helps you prioritize, track, and assign work on your smart building journey.

Events Summary

Events has its own tab in the left menu, the second icon under home.

‍

Events summary gives you a grid view of all your events. This view allows you to filter, bulk edit, or update events.

Create Event

In this feature you can create an event, by clicking on ‘Create Event’. Fill in all the fields to ensure your events are trackable and prioritizable. This functionality can also be accessed from most of our Platform features, so you can capture Event details and assign it to the right person immediately.

View Events Details

By clicking on an event in the summary grid, you enable a detailed view of each Event. It gives a clear understanding of what your Event is about with the following information in one place:

-  Event name

-  Description

-  Created by| Creation date

-  Tasks associated to the Event

-  Event details:

   - Priority

    - Category

    - Status

    - Assigned to

   - Hours spent

    - Due date

    - Cost savings

    - Payback period

    - Tags

    - Entities affected

-  Comments

-  Snapshots

-  Attachments

-  Key dates

-  Linked Events

-  Linked work orders

Why are my events categorized?

Categorizing your Events improves the way you filter and report on your events. These categories can be updated by a Super User in Configure > Portfolio > Edit.

You can select the icon color and have the option to grey out the category in the Events Feature when Events are closed or abandoned. This gives you a visual indication that you no longer have to pay close attention to this Event.

Events Status

Event Status is configured in Configure> Portfolio > Edit—the options are the same as the categories:

-   You can select the color of your Status

-   You can select the icon of your Status

-   The option to ‘grey out’ is available for the status color

The Events notifications are strategically bundled and delivered to you to get the right information without overloading your inbox.

Events App

The interactive Switch Automation App for iOS or Android is a remote way to monitor, manage, and take action on building optimization opportunities, without logging into a computer. The Events feature can be utilized on the app. You’ll also benefit by enabling push notifications to help you manage your events when needed..
